Chilton County, Isabella and Thorsby played two baseball games on Feb. 27.

CCHS and Isabella both dropped their games, but Thorsby picked up two home wins, defeating Reeltown 9-1 and Maplesville 13-4.

The Rebels are now 8-0 on the season.

Brantley Bice (3-0) was the winning pitcher against Reeltown, allowing the one run on three hits in seven innings while striking out nine.

Bice was also 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and one RBI.

Drew Minor went 4-for-4 with a double, one run and one RBI.

Cody Carroll (3-0) earned the win in the Maplesville game. Carroll pitched a complete game and allowed three hits and three walks while striking out 10.

Bice was 2-for-3 at the plate, and Blake Elkins had a home run and one other hit in his five at-bats.

Chilton County, meanwhile, held a 3-1 lead going into the fourth inning but surrendered four runs in the frame and lost, 5-3, at Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa.

Chance Calloway suffered the loss in the game.

The Tigers (1-7) were trying to salvage a split on the day, having already lost to Hillcrest, 15-5.

Ben Handley was tagged with the loss in that game despite allowing only two earned runs in five innings pitched.

Craig Headley went 3-for-4 with a home run in the game.

Blake Norman had two base hits in three at-bats in the Prattville game.

Isabella also held an early lead, 4-0 over Leeds, but lost it in a 9-4 defeat.

The Mustangs (3-5) scored all of their runs in the first inning at Leeds.

Sawyer Cahalane, Allen Edwards and Austin Haigler all drove in runs for Isabella.

Haigler also pitched a complete game and was the losing pitcher.

Isabella then suffered an even tougher loss, 13-12 to Vinemont.

Sean Haigler led off Isabella’s half of the seventh inning with a triple, but was doubled up when Cahalane’s line drive up the middle was caught by the pitcher and the ball was thrown over to third base.

Sean Haigler went 3-for-4 with two triples, and Blake Lawley was 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and five RBI.
