Eugene Smith, 77, of Clanton died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at his residence.
He was born Sunday, Feb. 12, 1933, in Chilton County, son of the late Albert Smith and the late Lottie Bell Minor Smith.
He was a crew leader.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Juanita Smith of Clanton; daughter, Mrs. Mona (Butch) Pike of Jemison; son, Mr. Jeff Smith of Clanton; three granddaughters, Ms. Jessica Pike of Kentucky, Ms. Courtney Smith of Clanton and Ms. Heather Smith of Clanton; brother, Mr. Carl (Joyce) Smith of Selma; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Nell (Arthur) Coodey of Clanton and Mrs. Elaine Hayes of Billingsley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lottie Bell Smith; and sister, Alma Kynard.
Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Samaria Baptist Church.
Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. at Samaria Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Hughes, the Rev. Charles Brooks and the Rev. O’Neal Cleckler officiating.
Interment will follow in Samaria Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
