The Clanton Walmart will hold a black history event Saturday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. featuring the Now Faith Generation Mass Choice of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Plantersville.

The 30-member choir will sing three songs, perform a praise dance and read a poem. An Oak Grove pastor will give closing remarks on the importance of building diverse relationships.

Clanton Walmart manager Tyson Elrod said the corporation and local branch are sensitive to all diverse groups and wanted to take the opportunity to host the event during black history month.

“Walmart supports diversity from all aspects,” Elrod said. “We decided to take the opportunity to support the African American community during Black History Month.”

Elrod said Walmart employee and Oak Grove Baptist Church member Regina Rush has been entirely instrumental in organizing the event. For more information, contact 755-7574.
