The Isabella and Verbena baseball teams on Thursday both picked up their first wins of the season—against each other.

Isabella won the first game of the doubleheader, 18-0.

Then, after recording only one hit in its first two games, Verbena’s hitters found their strokes on the way to a 13-7 victory.

The Isabella pitching trio of Austin Haigler, Sean Haigler and Sawyer Cahalane combined to no-hit Verbena in Game 1. Both Haigler brothers pitched two innings each, and Cahalane finished out the five-inning contest.

Austin Anderson had five hits in five at-bats with three stolen bases and four runs scored.

Both Adam Jones and Sean Haigler hit home runs.

Austin Haigler went 4-for-4 at the plate with three doubles.

In Game 2, Verbena scored its first run of the season in the second inning—then accounted for 10 more runs in the frame.

Christian Coston was the winning pitcher and recorded two hits.

Garrett Dennis had two doubles for the Red Devils (1-2).
