U.S. Senator Richard Shelby will visit Clanton later this month for a town hall meeting.
The meeting will take place Friday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 a.m. at Helen’s Place. The restaurant is located at 407 Second Avenue South.
Shelby will address this year’s legislative agenda, as well as other issues facing the nation and Alabama. Following his remarks, he will take questions and comments from those in attendance.
The visit will be part of Shelby’s annual trek across the state. Each year, he holds at least one meeting in each of Alabama’s 67 counties.
“Over the years, these meetings have provided an excellent opportunity for area residents to listen and voice their opinions on the activities of the government,” said Shelby, in a written statement. “This will be a great chance to discuss he important issues facing our state and our nation as the 111th Congress reconvenes.”
The meeting is open to the public.
