Carrie Lee Boockholdt Jones of Clanton died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Chilton Medical Center, Clanton.
She was born Feb. 10, 1920, to the late Lee Elbert and Carrie (Neeley) Boockholdt in the Enterprise community in south Chilton County.
She was a teacher and guidance counselor, primarily at Verbena High School, retiring in 1981. In retirement, she stayed active and involved as a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, the Chilton County Retired Teachers Association, the Housing Board of Chilton County, and the senior adult activities offered at First Baptist Church and Chilton Medical Center.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Pam Jones; two grandchildren, Emily (Stephen) Gentry of Auburn and Whitt Jones of Clanton; and one great-grandson, Braden Lee Gentry of Auburn.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, George Rayford Jones; and an infant daughter.
Services will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery in the Enterprise community in south Chilton County, Martin Funeral Home directing.
