Jemison’s girls basketball team broke an extended losing streak with Tuesday’s 33-25 win over Isabella, and the boys team was victorious also, 58-28.

Jemison’s girls used 15 points from Kelsey Mims, who was 10-of-14 from the free throw line, and 11 points from Shelby Lopez.

Amber Wyatt led Isabella with eight points, Kimi Jones had seven points and Sherrell Wilson had six.

The Panther boys (6-15) opened up a 19-1 lead at the end of the first period, masking the absence of senior forward Scottie Hall, who was out with an injury.

“It was good to get off to a quick start, and we just kind of cruised from there,” coach Stacy McGehee said.

Trey Bryant recorded 12 points, six rebounds and five steals for the hosts.

Javae Swindle scored 11 points, and Zak Kaylor ended with an interesting line: seven points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

Austin Haigler led Isabella with eight points.
