Verbena’s boys and girls basketball teams lost at Marbury on Monday.

The boys were down only six points late in the second period, but the hosts closed the half on a run and ahead by 15 points.

Marbury won, 72-49.

Brad Boswell led Verbena (10-14) with 12 points, Brandon White had 10 points and Marquez Deramus had nine points.

Verbena’s girls lost 53-40 despite 20 points from Marqueska Deramus.

Imma Sanders added nine points for the Red Devils.
