The Chilton County wrestling team split a tri-match at Shelby County on Thursday to run its record to 8-14 on the season.

But the record is deceiving because the young Tigers (there are no seniors on the team) have competed against some of the state’s best squads.

CCHS on Thursday lost to Gardendale, 62-15, but beat host Shelby County, 57-18.

CCHS on Wednesday won at Chelsea.

The Tigers travel to Brookwood on Saturday, and the sectional tournaments will begin on Feb. 5.
