Sara McAfee Mitchell
Sara McAfee Mitchell, 92, of Maplesville died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Nolan Hospital.
She was born Friday, June 15, 1917, in Chilton County, daughter of the late John R. McAfee and the late Martha Moore McAfee.
She was a lunchroom manager.
Surviving are her two daughters, Mrs. Judy (Tom) Hill of Northport and Ms. Martha Jo Mitchell of Maplesville; two sons, Mr. John Lewis (Bettye) Mitchell Jr. of Opelika and Mr. Terry R. (Pat) Mitchell of Gardendale; stepdaughter, Mrs. Johnnie M. (Rother) Davis of Birmingham; stepson, Mr. Joe Willie (JoAnn) Mitchell of Huntsville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Mrs. Grace Tilley of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. John Lewis Mitchell Sr.; grandson, Mr. Randall Mitchell; stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Lee Glasscock; stepson, Mr. Quinton Mitchell; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Services will be held Monday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. at Maplesville Baptist with the Rev. Ben Bowden and the Rev. Art Hartley officiating.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville.
