Virginia Mewborn Cole, 74, of Maplesville died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at her residence.
She was born Wednesday, March 13, 1935, in Jefferson County, daughter of the late William Herman Mewborn and the late Inez Salter Mewborn.
She was a nurse.
Surviving are her daughter, Gina Lynn (Glen) Riley of Maplesville; daughter-in-law, Nena Cole of Jemison; two grandsons, David Cole Riley of Maplesville and William Carson Riley of Maplesville; granddaughter, Heather Rene Cole of Jemison; two brothers, Tommy Mewborn of Sterrett and Ronnie Mewborn of Jackson, Tenn.; and former husband, Alton Cole of Maplesville.
She was preceded in death by her son, William Gregory Cole.
Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. at Maplesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Ty Parten and the Rev. Dennis Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens located in Maplesville.
