Area offices and business will observe different operating hours due to the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Clanton City Hall will close Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as Monday, Dec. 28 and Jan. 1. Garbage customers are asked to place their carts near the curb one day early for the next two weeks.

The Clanton City Council will meet early on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. in the council chambers.

Jemison City Hall will close Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. For both weeks, the city will collect Thursday’s garbage one day early and Friday’s garbage on the following Monday.

Thorsby’s municipal offices will close Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Residential garbage pick-up will not be affected.

Maplesville Town Hall will close the same days as Thorsby. Garbage normally picked up Friday will be collected the following Monday.

County offices in the Chilton County Courthouse will observe holidays Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. State offices will close an extra day on New Year’s Eve.

Peachtree Bank, Peoples Southern Bank, and Regions Bank all will close at noon on Christmas Eve and all day for Christmas Day. New Year’s hours for banks were not available Monday.
