About 50 Clanton households were without water Monday after lightning struck a water line.

Three crews are working to repair the line just off Poplar Springs Road, or County Road 18.

The line broke in at least three places and water is bubbling up to the surface, according to Mayor Billy Joe Driver.

Repairs should be finished by the end of the day, though rain is impeding the work, Driver said.
