Jemison First Baptist’s Winter Wonderland Christmas Walk is unlike any other event in the county.

Decorative Christmas scenes will display the nativity, angels, Santa, snowmen, a Christmas village and more. In the church gym will be decorative trees and inflatable rides.

At a “Sweet Shop,” guests will be served homemade candies and cookies, and kids will receive gifts bags with a free toy inside. Kids will also visit a workshop and make their own Christmas ornaments.

The church will open its Family Life Center to the public Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 16 and 17 from 6-8 p.m.

“We wanted to do this as our gift to the community,” Minister of Music and Youth Bob Stephens said. “They will hear the true meaning of Christmas and also enjoy the scenes and characters of Christmas.”

Members of the church youth group are volunteering time to sponsor the Walk. Church members have donated decorations for the scenes.

Also, Tammi’s Twirlers will perform Wednesday night around 6:30, Stephens said.

Jemison First Baptist is located on Highway 31 and may be reached at 688-4446.
