Funeral services for Gregory “Greg” Rollins, 46, of Jemison, who passed away Dec. 8, 2009, will be Saturday at noon at the chapel of Miller Funeral Home and Crematory. The Rev. Jim Otts, Jim Gunnells, and brother-in-law the Rev. James M. Otts will officiate.
Burial will follow in Eulaton First Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. His family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon.
Greg was a native of Anniston and a 1981 graduate of Walter Wellborn High School. He married Robin Otts in 1984. He was the best husband and father and loved his family, friends and his country. He was an honorably discharged sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a former youth pastor at Ohatchee First Baptist Church. He became an ordained pastor through Eulaton First Baptist Church. He loved his coffee and was known to be a computer whiz. He was employed with Teksouth Corp in Gardendale for the past six years. He attended Gadsden State Jr. College, Samford University and Jacksonville State University. He loved Alabama football, music, poetry and literature.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Martha and O.T. Carroll.
He is survived by his loving wife, Robin Rollins; children, Jordan Rollins Duncan (Stephen) and Zachary Rollins; parents, Charles and Judith Rollins; brothers, Casey Rollins and Marty Rollins (Tina); sisters-in-law, Rachel Otts and Ruby Hennis; brother-in-law, James Otts (Jenn); mother and father-in-law, the Rev. Jim and Ruby Otts; aunt, Alda Carroll; special nephews, Hunter Rollins, Scott Hennis, Austin Otts and Arron Evans; and loving nieces, Emily Grace Otts and Austin Evans.
Honorary pallbearers will be fellow employees of Teksouth Corp.
Contributions are preferred to Allan Ray Chaffin Detachment Marine Corps League, P.O. Box 544, Jacksonville, AL 36265, but flowers will be accepted.
