The Southern Enduro Riders Association season finale harescramble was hosted by North Alabama Trail Riders Association in West Point, Tenn., just across the Alabama border.

One hundred fourteen contenders took to the challenging 13-mile course, where the leaders completed three laps in just under 2 hours.

Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club of Maplesville was represented well as four local riders filled positions in the top 10.

Tyler Carter grabbed the holeshot in his first race as an AA rider starting on the front row. Carter led the first two laps with Frank Davis within eyesight for the duration. On the third and final lap, Carter crashed, allowing Davis to take the lead and the overall win for the day.

Carter would finish a close 20 seconds behind in the second overall position.

Starting one row behind the AA class were Chris McMillan and Kevin DeLoach in Open A. DeLoach claimed the hole shot, and he and McMillan were much like Carter and Davis for the event.

DeLoach was ahead of McMillan by a few seconds at the checkered flag the first two laps and until the final turn before the scoring tent on the final lap when he let the front end slide out from under him, and McMillan got around to claim one postition ahead in the class and overall.

McMillan and DeLoach would finish eighth and ninth overall, respectively.

Other local competitors at this event were Jacob Davis, Beau Burnett, Jared White and Neal Ousley—all of whom competed in the Junior class and finished second, third, fourth and fifth on the day, respectively.

John Huggins and Ted Anz finished third and fourth in the Vet B class.

Jonathon Seales rode Lites B and finished third just on the fender of the second place rider.

Adrian Gervais rode the event but more or less to video with his helmet cam and not go compete. Jason Brasington and Phillip McMillan were unable to finish.

In the Kids races held earlier in the day, Frank Davis had two sons competing, with Grayson finishing second in Beginner Pee Wee and Jackson claiming first in Intermediate Kids.

The first event for the 2010 SERA season will be right here in Chilton county in Reynolds Pasture on Jan. 10. The annual TriSanction Harescramble will be hosted by Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club.
