Staff members for the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce work behind the scenes throughout the year helping businesses plan ribbon cuttings and other events.

On Tuesday, the chamber will come to the forefront, hosting its annual open house. The event will be held from 11 until 1 at the chamber’s office on the corner of Fifth Street and Fifth Avenue.

“It’s a chance for people to stop in and meet the staff and board of directors,” said Pennie Broussard, executive director of the chamber of commerce. “We’re out and about all the time, but this is a chance for people to come see us.”

Broussard said it’s good to open the chamber’s door, since it’s often the first place people visit when considering a move to Chilton County.

“With a lot of people, this is the first impression they have of our community,” said Broussard.

Refreshments will be served, and the event is open to the public.
