A sense of community at Christmastime

It seems that Christmas has started early in Chilton County. Everywhere you turn, you will run into either a parade or a Christmas tree lighting.

It’s good to see towns and even unincorporated communities banding together to celebrate the holidays. Maplesville just observed its third annual Christmas parade and tree lighting, which seems to be growing year after year, and the folks at Collins Chapel are doing something similar.

Collectively, these events are just larger examples of what happens in individual homes during Christmas. This is a good thing, especially in today’s society where the concept of a “neighbor” seems to be a thing of the past.

While the holiday season may be fleeting, the same kind of community spirit can last all year long. We hope this is the case here in Chilton County.
