It’s not too late to help the United Way

Chilton County United Way is about halfway to achieving its 2009 fund-raising goal.

The nonprofit has collected more than $105,000 of its $200,000 goal.

Several big fund-raising events haven’t been included in that total. Board members are awaiting results from a September golf tournament sponsored by Williams.

The next fundraiser is Dollar Day for United Way on Thursday, Dec. 3. On this day, students and faculty members of local schools are asked to bring at least $1 to class to donate.

The United Way supports local charities, especially around the holidays like Operation: Santa Claus and Toys for Kids.

It’s not too late for you to help with the cause too. For more information or to donate to United Way, call 755-5875. If there is no answer, leave a message.
