Country living came to town Thursday during the annual Chilton County Farm-City Week Dinner.

Farmers, business owners and students were recognized during the annual night at the First United Methodist Church in Clanton.

Marty Courtney and his family were recognized as the Farm Family of the Year. Courtney operates a cattle farm in Verbena, where he was raised and graduated high school.

Medical supply company Medico was named the business of the year. Owners Andy Roberson and Nina Howard accepted the award.

“Chilton County has been wonderful to our company, and, hopefully, we have given some of that back to Chilton County,” said Howard.

Outstanding FFA, FCCLA and 4-H Club members as well as poster contest winners were also recognized from schools across the county. For their photos, see the Weekend edition of The Clanton Advertiser.

Clanton Kiwanis, Chilton County Farmers Federation, Chilton County Extension and Chilton County Chamber of Commerce sponsored the Farm-City dinner.
