Robert Colenza Yeargan, 83, of Clanton died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Saturday, June 12, 1926, in Anniston, son of the late Eddie Ray Yeargan and the late Gertrude Clark Yeargan.
Mr. Yeargan retired from the Navy following 20 years of service to his country. He then went on to retire from the Chilton County Road Department after 20 years of service.
Surviving are his brother, Mr. William C. Yeargan of Birmingham; sister-in-law, Mrs. Nancy Beam Parsons of Clanton; three stepsons, Mr. Ronnie Sammons, Mr. Roger Sammons and Mr. Scotty Sammons; nine nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by Mrs. Virginia Sammons Yeargan, wife.
Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Nobles officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Jemison.
The family requests no flowers but that donations be made to Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church or Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
