Another mayor has endorsed Cam Ward in his bid to become Chilton County’s next state senator.

Alabaster Mayor David Frings announced his support for Ward on Thursday. Ward is campaigning for Senate District 14, which includes all of Chilton and Bibb counties as well as part of Shelby County.

Jemison Mayor Eddie Reed endorsed Ward last month. Mayors from Montevallo and Helena in Shelby County and Centreville, Woodstock, West Blocton and Brent in Bibb County have also endorsed Ward.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Cam Ward for several years,” said Frings. “Working closely with our city council, Cam has been a tireless advocate for economic development in Alabaster, which has led to unprecedented growth for our city.”

Hank Erwin currently represents Senate District 14. Erwin is running for Alabama lieutenant governor in 2010.
