NNA of Alabama, which has operated under the name Renal Care Group Clanton, was issued a certificate of need for two additional hemodialysis stations.

The certificate, effective Oct. 1, will allow the group to expand its 10-station facility located on Health Center Drive.

The estimated cost of the project is $8,016.

Because the facility is already plumbed for two additional stations, the only capital expense will be to purchase two hemodialysis machines.

The State Health Planning and Development Agency in Montgomery issued the certificate.

Having two additional machines will allow the group to treat patients on a more timely basis.

People with chronic kidney disease require renal replacement therapy about three times per week to maintain life.
