Thorsby on Thursday lost two close games to Montevallo but returned the favor to host Chilton County High in a volleyball tri-match.

Montevallo topped CCHS (26-24, 12-25, 15-11) and Thorsby (25-23, 27-25). Thorsby beat CCHS (20-25, 25-19, 16-14).

Kendra Dawson had 11 digs in two matches for the Rebels (14-13), and Brittany Maddox posted 14 digs, eight kills and two blocks.

Michelle Hendrix recorded 16 digs, and Desiree Evans had 17 digs and nine aces.

Kelsie Davis chipped in six kills and three blocks, and Holly Smith was good for 23 assists and seven digs.

For the Tigers, Lauren Stewart had three kills, and Kacy Sanders had five assists in the first match. Against Thorsby, Stewart had four aces, Renee Lewis had four kill and Rachel Johnston had two kills.
