Davenport named Jr. Miss

Jana Davenport was named 2009 Chilton County Junior Miss.
In addition to the title — which comes with a $1,000 scholarship — Davenport was also named talent winner, self-expression winner and scholastic winner during the annual competition Sunday afternoon.
Davenport is a student at Jemison High School and plans to attend Judson College. She will also get the opportunity to advance to the state Junior Miss.
Coming in at first runner-up was Lauren Rae Morgan of Chilton County High School. She was also named physical fitness winner.
Other winners were Katie Hilyer and Macee Thomas, both CCHS students. Hilyer was named second runner-up, while Thomas received the Spirit of Junior Miss award and was also named signature winner.
The competition was held Sunday afternoon in the Chilton County High School auditorium.
