Classic cars, meat on the grill, and rock ‘n’ roll — expect all three at the Eighth Annual Fall Fest Car Show this Saturday.

The show, presented by the Chilton County Cruisers, will be held at Goose Pond Park from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Admission is free.

“The Cruisers club invites everyone to come out and view these antique and classic cars,” said Kenny Wilson of the Chilton County Cruisers.

The fee to enter a car in the show is $20, and each additional entry is $10. There is no limit to the number of entries.

Last fall, about 80 cars were entered in the show, Wilson estimated.

“We are hoping to top that number this year,” he said. “We had more than 90 for our August Cruise-In.”

The club started holding monthly cruise-ins in downtown Clanton this past April, and these have grown in popularity. Cruise-ins are held on the second Saturday night of each month, from April through September, from 6-9.

“We’ve been having more participation from out of the county,” Wilson said.

There will be plenty of opportunities to win prizes Saturday, including a big money tree, 50/50 pot (half of the proceeds from entries will be entered into the pot), door prizes and various awards.

Also, Boston Butts will be sold for $25 apiece, plus hamburgers and hotdogs.

The Cruisers are a nonprofit club that donates annually to local charities, including but not limited to the Chilton County Humane Society, Arthritis Foundation, Relay for Life, American Red Cross and more.
