Elaine Wilson Mims, 84, of Thorsby died Monday, Aug. 17 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
She was born Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1924, in Chicago, daughter of the late Frank Eugene Wilson and the late Emily Setnicka Wilson.
She was a manager.
Surviving are her three sons, John Floyd Mims Jr. of Albuquerque, NM, Jerry Wayne Mims of Northport, Stanley Earl Mims of Washington, DC; daughter, Sandra Mims Gasson of Mineral Springs; two granddaughters, Rachel Renee Mims of Northport, Mary Elizabeth Gasson of Mineral Springs; two grandsons, John Thomas Gasson of Mineral Springs and Samuel Lawrence Gasson of Mineral Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Floyd Mims Sr.
Friends were received from 6-8, Wednesday, Aug. 19 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services wereheld Thursday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m., at Thorsby First Baptist Church with the Rev. Von McQueen officiating.
Interment followed in Thorsby Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are: Earl Mims, Harold Mims, Greg Utley, Gary Gasson, Paolo Vento and Samuel Gasson.
No flowers; please make donations to Thorsby Baptist Church Building Fund or Billy Graham Ministries.
