The preseason football game between Chilton County High and Billingsley Thursday night was cancelled because of severe weather.

The game will instead be played at 7 p.m. Friday.

Isabella’s scheduled game at Brookwood was also rained out–and will not be made up.

Prior to kickoff Thursday, it was announced the start of the game would be delayed 30 minutes because of lightning, pera new AHSAA rule. Then the rain came.

“The field was flooded,” CCHS coach Brian Carter said. “The biggest thing was we didn’t want to get anybody hurt.”

Parking and admission will be free, Carter said, because it will be impossible to determine who paid Thursday.
