Chilton County High coach Brian Carter said the second Tiger Day, on Aug. 15, went a little smoother than the first, last year.

The CCHS offense probably couldn’t they had the same experience after scrimmaging the defense at the event.

“To me, it was a lot harder on us because the defense is better,” Carter said. “We’re a little bigger and stronger up front than we were last year.”

The offense enjoyed some success against the first-team D, though, scoring on a pass of about 30 yards from Taylor Hughes to Montel Wilkes and on a three-yard run by Chris Felder.

The varsity played at the end of the day at Tiger Stadium, after all age groups of the Clanton Blue and Clanton Orange youth programs, the middle school team and the junior varsity had a chance to scrimmage in front of the crowd.

“We did a lot of good things, and there are some things we can work on,” Carter said.
