Unorthodox race scheduled for Saturday

The Fifth Annual Watermelon 50 Buddy Harescramble will be hosted by Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club at Reynolds Pasture this Saturday.

Gates will open at 1 p.m., and racing will start at 4 p.m. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. with a cost of $15 per rider.

The two-man teams will be divided into four different classes. The A and B classes will ride on one course, while the C and Family classes will ride another. The C and Family course will be ridable for any level of experience or age.

Each rider will ride his or her own bike one lap at a time then change over to the other member of the team.

This event is for motorcycles only— there are no 4-wheeler classes.

Perry Mountain does not require AMA membership for this event but does reserve the right to change teams from one class to another if they know either rider is riding down or sandbagging. For example, one A rider and one B rider must ride in the A class if they are on the same team.

The first team to complete all required laps will be the overall winner in each division.

This is a great event for the entire family to enjoy—spectators and riders alike.

There will be no riding on Sunday in Reynolds Pasture.
