Twice a year, groups from local churches gather at Chilton County school campuses to pray for the coming school year.

The Prayer Walk for Schools, sponsored by the Chilton Baptist Association, is open to anyone who wishes to participate.

Those who cannot attend are encouraged to visit a school and pray at a time convenient for them.

“First of all, we need to pray for the safety of all students in and out of the classroom,” said coordinator Bobbie Traywick. “We also need to pray for the homes of the students, and the teachers and staff need our prayers for patience and wisdom.

“We need to pray for the superintendent and board of education in their decisions.”
