Chilton County Road 195, near Jemison, up until last week was only half paved.

The residents who live along the road planned a party for Friday evening to celebrate the paving of their road.

Chilton County Commissioner Allen Caton said this project has been long awaited.

“They’ve been trying to get it paved for almost 20 years, I think,” Caton said.

Many residents, as well as passers-by, will benefit from the project.

“There’s quite a few houses on this road,” Caton said.

Caton said the residents planned the celebration among themselves and invited the county commissioners to attend.
