Say, ‘Thank you’ to those who keep us safe

Both Clanton’s police and fire departments will take part in “Night Out Against Crime” next month.

Though exact details haven’t yet been worked out, the program will take place Aug. 4 from 6-9 p.m. A location will be printed in The Advertiser when everything is planned.

The “Night Out Against Crime” serves several purposes.

First of all, it gives people a chance to meet the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday to keep us safe. The program gives everyone a chance to thank our firefighters and police officer for what they do.

The night will also be educational. Equipment from both departments will be on display, and there will be other information to help explain how these departments operate.

It’s a chance for kids to get up close to a fire truck or learn why fingerprinting is so important.

We look forward to the night and encourage residents to attend.
