The next member of the Auburn University Board of Trustees could be someone from Chilton County.

A trustee position will soon be available for District 6, which includes Bibb, Chilton, Greene, Hale, Perry, Shelby, Sumter and Tuscaloosa counties.

Those who wish to be considered for the position can send a letter of interest and relevant background information to the Auburn University Trustee Selection Committee by August 10. The applicant must be a resident of a District 6 county and must not be older than 70 years old when appointed to the Board.

Interviews will be held beginning August 18, and the selection committee will nominate a candidate, who must then be confirmed by the Alabama Senate.
