John Ponder Jones, 71, a resident of Clanton, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, at 1 p.m., from Zion Ridge Church of God with Pastor Tony Thomas and Bro. Ollie Clyde Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with Ellison Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.

Mr. Jones is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Rita Jones of Clanton; brother, James (Ester) Jones of Clanton; sisters, Dean Barrett of Clanton; Louise (Hershel) Little of Hope Hull, Dorothy (Roy) Burnett of Clanton; and four grandchildren, Ashlee Jones, Max Jones and Chad Jones, all of Clanton; and Angela (Bobby) Jernigan of Birmingham.
