OK. It’s official. The annual Peach Jam Jubilee, organized each year by the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce, is an unbridled success.

More than 7,000 attended the downtown music festival and over 120 area businesses and organizations purchased booth space lining downtown streets. Not too bad for an event hosted in the teeth of summer’s heat.

The real winners in this event are the downtown businesses who were on display to thousands of potential customers — many of them new customers.

This kind of event is what chambers of commerce around the state should look at to emulate.
