Arrest warrants have been issued for a north Chilton County man believed to be involved in a string of purse robberies targeting older women in Helena, Calera and Montevallo in Shelby County on Friday.

David Hall Warren, 32, is wanted by the Helena Police Department on robbery and assault charges in connection with an 11 a.m. robbery of a woman in the Helena Winn-Dixie parking lot, said Helena Lt. Brad Flynn.

The woman suffered injuries when Warren allegedly threw her to the ground. Warren also assaulted a store employee.

Warren may also be tied to similar robberies Friday in Montevallo and Calera, Flynn said.

A woman was robbed at Lucky’s in Montevallo around 10 a.m. Another woman was robbed at the Calera Wal-mart around noon.

Warren is 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 212 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes, and was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue shorts and a ball cap.

Warren is believed to be a passenger in a gold 1999 GMC Yukon with Alabama license plate 14A88LO, Flynn said.

“We do consider him to be armed and dangerous,” Flynn said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Helena Police Department at 663-6499.
