A Chilton County resident who was killed Thursday in a three-vehicle crash in Moulton was identified as 27-year-old Jason Wayne Beavers of Jemison.

According to officials, Beavers died upon impact when the truck he was driving struck the back of a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Alabama 33 and Alabama 157. The tractor-trailer reportedly struck another car.

Beavers was pronounced dead at the scene, Moulton Police officials reported. The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered minor injuries, but the driver of the car was not injured.

All three vehicles were reportedly traveling southbound on Alabama 157, but the tractor-trailer and car were stopped at a traffic signal at the time of the accident.

Moulton is the county seat of Lawrence County, located in northwest Alabama.

Services for Beavers were held Sunday at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo. Burial followed at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera.
