Chilton County High on Friday lost a practice game, and Thorsby had a potential win rained out.

CCHS fell to American Legion Post 134, 4-2. Thorsby was leading West Blocton, 5-0, when inclement weather forced the cancellation of the game.

The Rebels struck early as Blake Elkins dropped a single in left-center field in the bottom of the first inning to score Brantley Bice.

Starting pitcher Shaine Beam doubled to lead off the second inning and was followed by Drew Minor’s infield single and Jace Maddox’s base on balls as the Rebels stretched their lead.

Earlier, CCHS could muster only two hits against Post 134, which was composed of players from Briarwood, John Carroll and Vestavia high schools. One hit, though—an infield single by Tanner Powell—scored Cameron Cummings and Kipp Moore to tie the game at two in the bottom of the third.

Post 134 won it with two runs in the seventh.
