The long-anticipated new ladder truck for the Clanton Fire Department arrived Tuesday to a waiting crowd of city councilmembers, community leaders and excited fire fighters.

The truck, which was approved by the city council in May, will be added to the department’s fleet in the coming weeks as it becomes fully equipped.

The extendable ladder, brings additional capabilities to the department, allowing it to provide fire fighting services to some of the city’s larger and taller buildings.
