The class of 2009 will receive diplomas at six Chilton County high schools Thursday night.

Chilton County High School will hold its graduation ceremony tonight at 6 in the school auditorium, which holds 1,000 people.

CCHS principal Greg DeJarnett said he expects a full house and has taken steps to accommodate more people.

“We’re going to have a live feed to the lunchroom and have a projector so we can seat another two to three hundred people,” DeJarnett said.

Each of the roughly 180 CCHS seniors have been given four tickets to admit guests to the auditorium and two additional tickets for seats in the lunchroom.

Verbena High School will hold its graduation ceremony at 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium, which holds 600. There is no limit on the number of guests admitted.

Fifteen students will participate in graduation.

VHS principal Larry Raines said the school has never needed to put a limit on the number of guests.

“Generally it fills up, but I don’t know tomorrow night since it’s a small group,” Raines said.

Thorsby High School will hold its graduation ceremony tonight at 7 in the school auditorium, which holds 700. Fifty seniors will graduate, and guests will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Maplesville High School will hold its graduation tonight at 7 in the 524-seat school auditorium. MHS has 38 graduating seniors.

There will be no limit on the number of guests admitted.

Isabella High School will hold its graduation tonight at 7 in the school auditorium, which holds approximately 500.

Isabella’s senior class is composed of 46 seniors, each of whom receives 10 tickets to admit guests. Any school faculty will also be admitted.

Jemison High School will hold its graduation tonight at 7. JHS officials will determine whether the ceremony will be held in the football stadium or the school auditorium by 10 a.m. Thursday.
