MONTGOMERY – When the Red Devils are good, they’re good. When they’re bad…
The good was the Maplesville softball team outscoring Wadley 20 to zero in all but one inning and allowing zero earned runs in the game.
The bad was the Devils allowing eight unearned runs in the fourth inning.
It took five Maplesville runs in the fifth inning and nine more runs in the sixth inning to decide a game that should not have been close to begin with.
“Other than that one inning, we played outstanding,” coach Ashlie Harrison said about her team’s Class 1A South Central Region tournament contest at Lagoon Park.
Courtney Killingsworth was the winning pitcher.
The Devils face Billingsley at 8 a.m. Saturday.
