Chilton County’s golf team failed to qualify Tuesday for its sub-state tournament, but two individual players qualified for a sub-state tournament after their performances at the Class 5A, Section 2 tournament Tuesday at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper.

The Tigers finished fifth as a team, but only the top four squads advance.

Blake Jenkins, with a 75, and Forrest Knight, with a 78, both finished in the top four at the sectional, which earned them a trip to Limestone Springs Golf Club in Oneonta on May 4 for the sub-state tournament.

Isabella golfers also participated in a sectional tournament, Wednesday at ‘Ol Colony Golf Complex in Tuscaloosa.

Both Clayton Pitts and Brendan Fletcher finished in the top 10 at the sectional but failed to qualify for sub-state.
