Jemison couldn’t muster any offense beyond Christian Briscoe’s second inning home run, and the Panthers on Monday fell to Holt, 2-1, on a cold night.

Briscoe led off the second inning with his blast, and Donny Eslinger singled two outs later, but the hosts would be held hitless the rest of the way.

Jemison starting pitcher Jacob Chapman was cruising along until the sixth inning, when Holt’s Mark Taylor doubled with one out and was followed by teammate Joe Schultz’s single.

Both runners would score—Taylor on a groundout and Schultz on a wild pitch—to give the visitors the lead.

Briscoe flirted with another home run with two outs in the bottom of the inning but hit it to the deepest part of the field, and the out was recorded.

Chapman was the tough luck losing pitcher. He allowed the two runs on five hits and one walk in six innings while striking out four.

Jemison will host Bibb County at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
