All sporting events involving county teams scheduled for Thursday were canceled when the decision was made to let school out early.

Games originally scheduled were: Verbena baseball at Autaugaville, Dallas County golf at Isabella (at Montevallo Golf Club), Chilton County golf at Chelsea (at Deer Valley Links), Talladega soccer at Chilton County, Maplesville softball at Thorsby, Jemison softball at Bibb County, Demopolis softball at Chilton Co. and Chilton County boys tennis at Jemison.

The Verbena baseball game will not be made up, coach Tommy Headley said, becoming the sixth rained out game the Red Devils will not get to play.

The Maplesville-Thorsby softball game also will not be made up.

Chilton County’s soccer team will make up its game on April 14 at the same time, 6 p.m. The Tigers have another schedule adjustment because a game at Sylacauga on March 31 was postponed to April 16.

Jemison’s softball game will be played at 4 p.m. on April 17, and the CCHS-Jemison tennis match has been rescheduled for 3:30 p.m. April 21.

Nothing definite has been determined about CCHS’s golf match, and information about the possibility of make-up dates for Isabella’s golf match or the CCHS softball game wasn’t available at press time.
