Family and friends gathered at Sunbridge Rehabilitation Center in Elmore on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. to celebrate a very special birthday.

Hattie Maudling Knight’s 90th birthday was celebrated with a beautiful birthday cake and punch, and she received many beautiful gifts and well as wishes from her many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The room was decorated with a banner denoting her 90th birthday and with many colorful balloons.

Knight enjoyed her birthday party very much and especially seeing all her family.

She was born Feb. 27, 1919 in Bibb County and operated Knight’s Trading Post in the north Clanton area from approximately 1960-1981. She was the wife of the late W.E. “Shorty” Knight, and the mother of Gail Ray, Elaine Johnson, Joyce “Tinker” Durham and Donald “Doc” Knight, and the late William E. “Gabby” Knight.
