T.J. Henley blasted two two-run homers to left field yesterday to pace a Chilton County offense that defeated Dallas County, 15-0 in five innings.

CCHS pitcher Ben Handley was as impressive as his team’s offensive output. Handley earned the win by pitching three scoreless innings. He allowed one hit and one walk while striking out three.

Tanner Powell, Chilton Co.—2/4, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI

T.J. Henley, Chilton Co.—3/3, 2 HR, 3 R, 4 RBI

Cameron Teel, Chilton Co.—2/3, 2B, R, 2 RBI

Dallas County’s Justin McAfee had his team’s only hit, and Kevin Simmons drew a walk for the Hornets (2-5).

Brandon Veazey, meanwhile, singled as the leadoff batter for the Tigers (7-5) and scored later in the inning on a sacrifice fly by Cameron Teel.

The visitors led 2-0 after one inning and stretched the lead to 7-0 after two innings.

William Head singled with one out and scored on Henley’s first long ball of the day.

Consecutive doubles by Tanner Powell, Adam Minor and Teel concluded the scoring in the frame, but CCHS added six runs in the third and two runs, on Henley’s second homer, in the fourth.

Minor pitched two perfect innings of relief and struck out three.

Dallas County’s Keith Jones suffered the loss.

Chilton next will host Class 4A No. 6 Bibb County at 4 p.m. Friday.
