Bill needs to pass Senate

Dear Editor,

Rep. Jimmy Martin sponsored a bill that would allow Jemison, Maplesville and Thorsby a chance to share the revenue from liquor sales. I hope the Senate passes this bill for the good of smaller cities in Chilton County.

I’m sure Rep. Martin isn’t condoning alcoholic beverage consumption.

I think he understands the unfairness of the bill now in place. I think the mayors of Jemison, Maplesville and Thorsby should lobby their state representatives to pass the bill. This bill, if passed, would give smaller cities in Chilton County a chance share the revenue from the sale of alcoholic beverages. I’m sure these smaller cities can use the extra money.
