The welding students at W.A. “Bing” LeCroy Career/Technical Center in Clanton competed in the annual school welding contest to determine which students would move on to the next level of competition, district followed by state.

The school contest is the Skills U.S.A. contest that is held each year in career/tech schools across the state and nation.

These students will also represent LeCroy Career/Tech Center at the ACE competition, which will be held at Wallace Community College Selma on April 3.

The winners are as follows:

First place Justin Adams, a senior from Chilton County High School and the son of Roger and Pam Adams.

Second place Ryan Cox, a senior at Chilton County High School and is the son of Mike and Melanie Cox. He will also compete at District Contest.

Third place Brett Wright, a senior from Chilton County High School and the son of Jr. and Pam Wright, will compete at Wallace in ACE.

Fourth place Blake Gore, a junior from Verbena High School and is the son of Kathy Keef and Lee Gore. He will also compete at Wallace in ACE.

The school’s welding instructor is Allen Deason.
