Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. McCoy of Kimberly announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kristen Elizabeth, to Samuel Mark McGaughy of Hoover. Mr. McGaughy is the son of Mr. Mark B. McGaughy of Brierfield and Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Moore of Clanton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noel E. Sandlin of Kimberly and Mr. and Mrs. W.T. McCoy of McCalla. She is a graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science degree in human resources management. She is employed with United States Steel Corporation in Birmingham as a Recruiting Manager.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Daniel “Jiggs” and Louise Reeder of Wilton and the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. McGaughy of Montevallo. He is a graduate of The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management and The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering. He is employed with United States Steel Corporation in Birmingham as a Project Engineer.

The wedding is planned for May 16 at 11 a.m. at Aldridge Botanical Gardens.
